Although we practice mainly in the area of family law, we do offer additional services. Oftentimes, our current or past clients need help in additional legal matters. Because of this, we work very hard at offering these services so that we can help out in many different ways. Whether you are a current client, a past client, or a prospective client, we will be happy to help you with any of these legal matters. Please read below if you need help with any of the following legal situations.
We understand how frustrating it is when an order has been signed by a judge and the other party to the action refuses to follow the court order. We can help you file a contempt action if you were involved in a case where the other party has not followed the terms of your Court Order. We can also help if you are in a situation where someone has filed a contempt action against you, claiming that you are not carrying out the terms of your order.
Oftentimes in divorce actions, one Party receives the marital residence. As that is the case, our office has years of experience drawing up deeds for land transfers, including QuitClaim Deeds and Warranty Deeds. Whether or not you are going through a divorce, we can prepare a legal deed for you to transfer your property. We are also able to do title searches on your property to ensure that you have no liens, encumbrances or other matters that need to be addressed.
Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
In addition, divorce actions often include a division of retirement accounts, including but not limited to 401(k)s, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and pension accounts, military or otherwise. Dividing these accounts typically requires Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). Whether you need a QDRO congruent with your divorce, or you are represented in your divorce and your attorney does not provide QDRO services, we can draft and submit a QDRO to the appropriate plan administrator.
Having your financial assets (whether they be personal property, real property, 401(k)s, stocks or bonds) in order upon passing is important. Not only does it help you; it helps your loved ones. When someone passes away without a will, there is often confusion, and family members have to figure out what needs to be divided. At Thompson, Wallin, & Cunningham, LLC, we offer bundle services, which include a will, power of attorney (so that you can appoint someone to take care of your financial assets when you are unable) and a durable health care form (your wishes for medical treatment). Call us and have your will done today!
At Thompson, Wallin, & Cunningham, LLC, we handle an array of personal injury cases. We work with insurance companies daily trying to get the best settlement for our clients. We also deal with cases where the other party does not have insurance. If the insurance company or other party does not give a reasonable offer satisfactory to our client, we are prepared to go to trial and fight for your rights. We know how hard it is financially, emotionally and physically when you have been injured in an accident.
